I like this; so many times church planting critiques come from within the dominant culture, addressed to the dominant culture, and attempting to somehow revitalize the dominant culture.

It's a glaring blind spot to fail to see the growing edge of the church is not from within, but at the margins, so often among immigrants and minorities.

When we fail to MEAT yes( meat) the needs of the communities we are Planted in then we fail The Great Comission, We are to draw unbelievers and those who are straddled to The True meaning of Discipleship However we need People who are Motivated through their Love and Passions, I know some unchurched people who serve The Kingdom Well.

Thanks brother for posting. I've been having some of the same concerns that you express because I've been hearing that same language coming out of some of even the "missional" circles conversations yet most other ethnic groups are not even a part of the conversation. I pray that it doesn't strip the missional conversation of it's integrity because the conversation needs to be rooted in what the scriptures say......Thank you sir

Efrem,

Thanks for your post. Your responses were spot on.

I read the original blog in which you responded to. I found that article nothing more than an apologetic for the house/organic movement. It was way to narrow and a poor represenatation of most church planters and church planting networks I'm familiar with.

The New Testament only provides the function of the church: worship, instruction, fellowship, expression (evangelism, justice, etc). How each local church goes about this varies according to its mission al context. So God can use and is using house/organic, mega-church, traditional, etc..,
